MobiLoud
Convert your existing website into native iOS & Android apps
MobiLoud is a done-for-you service that turns ecommerce websites into native iOS and Android apps. It's built and run by Fifty Pixels Ltd, a London company that has operated the product since 2013.
Unlike most other app builders, instead of rebuilding your store as a separate native app, MobiLoud builds your app on top of the site you already run. Your app is powered by the same catalog, checkout, content and integrations, as your site, together with a native layer for the things a browser can't do.
There's no dashboard for you to operate. MobiLoud's team configures, designs, builds, tests and submits the app, then maintains it over time. Your web team keeps running the website, and the changes they publish flow through to the app automatically.

How the app is built
The app is a hybrid of web and native technologies. Your live website powers the core content and functionality of your app, while native Swift and Kotlin frameworks power the native layer.
There's no second app codebase, CMS or merchandising layer to keep in sync. The app feeds from your existing website. New content, features, products and nearly everything else can be built and shipped through your website and put live in your app. You can also tag pages or features to only show in the app, letting you build a unique customer experience in the app.
Changes you publish on the web, such as a new collection, a price update or a homepage banner, show up in the app without submitting a new build to the stores. An app update is only needed when the native layer itself changes, for example an OS update or a new native feature.
The native layer
While your site provides the foundation for your app, MobiLoud helps you add a native layer on top that gives your app a native user experience.
The UI strips away web-specific elements, and gives you native tab navigation, plus native elements like splash screens and loading indicators.
You get native push notifications, handled by native OneSignal/Klaviyo integrations, plus MobiLoud's Shopify app, which automates push notifications based on store triggers like order and shipping updates.
You can also tailor the experience for app users without commissioning native development. App-only pages, promotions and content are built on your own site and shown only inside the app, and individual elements can be hidden, shown or restyled for app users through user-agent detection and CSS. That makes it possible to run app-exclusive launches, or a simpler app layout, while still managing everything from your existing CMS.
How it connects to your store and stack
Because the app renders your existing site, all your site features, including checkout, payments, reviews, loyalty, subscriptions and search, work in your app automatically.
MobiLoud doesn't rely on platform APIs or pre-built integrations, or separate mobile SDKs required for your existing tech stack to carry over to your app. There are no integration limits, or unsupported tools.
MobiLoud's approach also means it works with any ecommerce platform, including Shopify, Shopify Plus, Adobe Commerce and Magento, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, VTEX, WooCommerce, and many more. It also works seamlessly with custom ecommerce sites, headless sites, and legacy ecommerce setups.
Getting the app live and who maintains it
MobiLoud is effectively your outsourced app development team. They manage just about every part of the app development process, from configuration to development to app store submission.
The regular launch timeline is six to eight weeks, though some projects may ship faster; sometimes in as little as two weeks.
After launch, MobiLoud handles all technical maintenance and updates for your app, while content updates can be made by your team, through your existing web CMS.

What reviewers say
Bottom line
Best for: Established ecommerce and content brands that want a native app mirroring their existing site, fully managed, without maintaining a second codebase or paying order-based revenue share.
FAQs
Do I need an existing website to use MobiLoud?+
Yes. MobiLoud builds the app on your current website, which the vendor states needs to be mobile-optimized. It does not build a store from scratch.
Does MobiLoud take a percentage of sales?+
No. Pricing is a flat monthly subscription with no revenue share. The vendor contrasts this with platform app builders that take 1.75% to 3% of order revenue.
Who owns the app and the developer accounts?+
You do. Apps are published under your own Apple Developer and Google Play accounts, so the store listings, ratings and installs stay with you.
Which ecommerce platforms does it work with?+
It is platform-agnostic. MobiLoud lists Shopify (including Plus and Hydrogen), Adobe Commerce and Magento, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, VTEX, WooCommerce, WordPress, and custom or headless stacks.
Do site changes require a new app-store submission?+
No. Because the app loads your live site, content and feature changes appear automatically. A new store submission is only needed when the native layer itself changes, such as an OS update or a new native feature.
How long does it take to launch?+
The vendor states a preview app is ready within about one business day of kickoff, and roughly six to eight weeks from kickoff to both apps live, with each store's review typically taking 5 to 7 business days.
