AppPresser
WordPress & WooCommerce app platform
AppPresser is a platform for turning a WordPress site into native iOS and Android apps, with a particular focus on the WordPress plugin ecosystem: WooCommerce for ecommerce, plus BuddyPress and BuddyBoss, LearnDash and membership plugins. It has existed since 2013, making it one of the oldest WordPress-to-app tools.
The output is a hybrid app: an Ionic app shell that renders WordPress content and talks to the site over the WordPress REST API. You build it yourself in a hosted dashboard, installing the AppPresser plugin and its Ion theme on your site, then assembling screens from blocks in an app customizer with live preview. AppPresser can also build the app for you.
It leans more technical than pure no-code tools: deeper work uses custom HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WordPress hooks. WooCommerce checkout runs in an in-app browser rather than a native flow, and the app requires an active subscription to keep functioning.

How apps are built
The build model is a hosted visual customizer plus WordPress plugins on your site. You install the AppPresser plugin and the Ion theme, then build the app in the myapppresser.com dashboard's App Customizer, a modified WordPress theme customizer with a live browser preview. Screens are assembled with an App Page Builder, adding blocks such as WooCommerce products, cart, account and BuddyPress or LearnDash blocks to custom pages.
Content shown from the site uses the Ion theme; you cannot render a custom WordPress theme inside the app. Deeper customization is available to technically comfortable users through custom HTML pages, custom CSS and JavaScript, and a large set of PHP hooks, which is why it sits closer to low-code than no-code and assumes WordPress familiarity.
How it connects to your store
The app connects to WordPress through the WordPress REST API, authenticating with JWT. For WooCommerce, the AppCommerce plugin renders product lists, product pages, cart, account and wishlist as native blocks reading from the WooCommerce REST API. Checkout happens on your website through an in-app browser rather than a fully native flow, though a Smart Checkout plugin provides a mobile-optimized multi-step WooCommerce checkout that reuses your existing checkout fields.
Selling digital goods such as courses or memberships must use Apple and Google in-app purchases, with one IAP subscription included on the Advanced plan. Push is sent from the dashboard, from WordPress via a plugin, or through a notifications API.
Beyond commerce
AppPresser's reach goes past shopping. Because it mirrors WordPress plugins, it supports membership and protected content, BuddyPress and BuddyBoss communities, and LearnDash courses and certificates, alongside camera and photo upload, offline pages and media, translations with WPML and RTL, and AdMob ads. Login and registration use WordPress accounts, with Sign in with Apple, Google and Facebook.
Push notifications include advanced sends to individual devices, deep links, and segmented notifications on higher tiers. Analytics run through Google Analytics and Firebase.
What it costs and who it's for
AppPresser is subscription-based and relatively low cost. Standard is $59/month billed annually ($79 monthly), Professional is $79/month annually, and Advanced is $129/month annually, with push device limits and app counts rising by tier; app-store submission setup is a one-time $199, waived on annual plans and charged on monthly Standard. You provide your own Apple and Google developer accounts. Note that the app stops working if the subscription lapses.
It fits WordPress and WooCommerce site owners, and agencies, that want an app mirroring their site's plugins and content, and are comfortable with a more technical, WordPress-centric build.
