AppMaker
Build custom mobile apps with full creative control
AppMaker is a mobile app builder that turns a Shopify store into native iOS and Android apps, built on React Native. It's operated by a Pune, India company, and runs on a layered model: a no-code dashboard for merchants, and a developer toolchain (a CLI, code blocks and an extensions marketplace) for agencies and teams that want to go further.
You assemble the app in Appmaker Studio, a drag-and-drop builder with real-time preview, and personalize content by Shopify tags and metafields through conditional blocks. Where the standard blocks aren't enough, developers can override any block with a custom React Native component, write reusable Code Blocks, or build custom themes as npm packages.
AppMaker is Shopify-only and syncs the store in real time, with checkout handled through Shopify. Pricing is at the higher end and includes a 1% fee on in-app sales, and full developer access sits on the Enterprise tier.

How apps are built
AppMaker layers no-code and code. Merchants assemble homepages, product pages and banners in Appmaker Studio, a drag-and-drop builder with real-time preview, controlling theme colors, fonts and page structure. Content can be personalized by Shopify tags and metafields through conditional blocks.
Underneath, pages are defined as block arrays, and any block can be overridden by registering a same-named custom React component. Themes are npm packages developed locally with the Appmaker CLI and registered in a Partner Dashboard, and Code Blocks let developers add custom UI, business logic and external-service calls as sandboxed, versioned components that can be shared or sold in a marketplace. Full developer access, custom themes and custom APIs are gated to the Enterprise tier, alongside one-time solutioning fees.
How it connects to your store
AppMaker installs on Shopify and syncs products, orders and customers in real time, consuming Shopify storefront data directly for catalog and cart. Personalization runs on Shopify tags and metafields, and custom PDP templates and metafields are supported. Checkout relies on Shopify's own checkout rather than a bespoke native one, and custom checkout scripts are an Enterprise feature. A Web SDK and a PWA-to-APK tool are available where webview embedding is needed.
Features and AI
On the storefront, AppMaker covers native listing and detail pages, sort and filter, custom PDP templates, size charts, multi-currency and multi-store support. Push notifications are unlimited, with scheduled campaigns, event-based triggers, segmentation and abandoned-cart automation, plus in-app popups and app-install banners.
AI is a growing part of the product. John AI is a live in-dashboard assistant for analytics questions, campaign planning, automation flows and push copy; a design engine (Eidolon AI) and in-app personalization (Rubick's AI) are referenced as newer or upcoming. Analytics run through Firebase, with attribution via AppsFlyer and Adjust.
What it costs and who it's for
AppMaker is priced for established brands and agencies. The Growth plan is $999/month plus 1% of in-app sales, with the drag-and-drop builder, conditional-block personalization, default themes and unlimited push. Enterprise starts around $2,000/month plus 1% of in-app sales and adds full developer access, custom themes, custom APIs and multi-language, with one-time solutioning and development fees on top. There is a 14-day trial and no free plan.
It fits established Shopify and D2C brands, and the agencies that build for them, that want a fully custom, code-extensible native app rather than a templated one, and can absorb a high monthly fee plus a revenue share.
